Alternative Fuels Technology & Energy Resource Management

Never before has the entire world been so acutely aware of energy resources than at the present time. Be it mobile equipment and transportation vehicles, or buildings and industrial operations; the new wave of development in new energy resources as well as the prudent use of existing energy resources is driving engineering & technology planning, profitable facilities’ operating, and political agendas throughout the developed and developing world.

Our job in this class is to highlight the wide range of energy solutions: solar, wind, liquid fuels (ethanol, methanol, bio-mass, oil shale, propane, diesel, gasoline), fuel cell, natural gas (as CNG or LNG) and their availability, cost structures, and advantages or perhaps disadvantages. We look at mobility fleet solutions and facilities-building efficiency measures. Instruction is provided in problem solving on-site, critical examination of waste issues, technology trends, and installation techniques.
