Basic Electrical Engineering/Electricity Technology
The program starts with the coverage of a variety of electrical concepts: block diagrams, common formulas, line/wiring circuit diagrams, symbols, floor plans, power distribution, schematics, and of course applications. We study problem solving based upon symptoms, relate actual equipment components to diagram symbols, read schematics, and recite examinations of circuit diagrams. The course identifies common causes of electrical problems and failures.
Safety training, infrared interpretations, power quality, and MRO for electrical systems with site walk-around checklisting also become part of the curriculum. Finally, safety equipment, de-energized circuits, shorts, ground faults, multimeter and ammeter readings, Megohmmeter tests, facility power distribution systems, PLC ladder diagrams, on-site floor plan electrical systems overviews, and electrical components & systems preventive maintenance make for a comprehensive and intensive study of facilities audits within the framework of electrical engineering.
